The choice of the theme "Bia So Mengong Festival beyond borders" was also based on the desire to push opponents to offer festivalgoers products in line with a philosophy of integration,
crossing, sharing of possibilities. This is what the exhibitor Carine Ondja'a understood well through the creations she presents at the festival village.
In the heart of the Bia So Mengong festival, Carine Ondjàa's stand draws the attention of many visitors
by the uniqueness of her creations and the scenery she presents. These are revisited traditional clothes, bracelets in pearls and cauris, handbags, tissue holders for offices and cars, camels, thermos that evoke African history and culture.
She knew, in the perspective of the festival's theme: "Beyond borders", to capture the soul of cultural diversity and the valuation of identities.
Specialized in sewing and beading, Carine Ondjàa offers a range of items that reflect her love for cultural mixing. Each piece is a work of art that is a testament to the richness and diversity of cultures.
As materials, she prefers the pearls and cauris with which she creates jewelry and accessories. She uses specific and symbolic fabrics to express her desire to offer customers clothes that translate a particular identity.
These are materials with deep cultural significance. As she says, "Using them, we value African culture and show our affection to our roots."
On July 13, she received the award for the best Art and Culture Stand at the Bia So Mengong Festival,
an award that values disruptive and particular initials in order to encourage local initiatives to promote traditional know-how.
This award comes in addition to another, received last year in the same category for outstanding work.
"I'm very pleased to have received this award. "It's an acknowledgement of my work and my passion for art and culture," she hammered, with a big smile. Before adding: "I would also like to thank the festival team for their support."
The festival gave us a free space and gave us free transportation. It's a gesture that really made us feel valued and supported.
This support has allowed me to focus on my craft and share my creations with a wider audience.
Mrs. Ondja'a's stand is there, working in acts and works to make the cultural brewing more palpable.
It is a place where art and culture meet, harmonize to celebrate cultural diversity and invite every visitor to discover and appreciate the riches of Africa. Take a walk around.
