The day is as busy as ever ; the temporary cessation of soccer doesn’t prevent spirits from remaining focused on activities in the festival village, where a number of motivating events are taking place. In keeping with the festival’s theme, a third cultural group marking national unity is eagerly awaited by the people of Mengong. And let’s not forget that the highlight of the day is scheduled for 8 p.m. : the beauty pageant (the third edition of THE BELINGA FOUNDATION miss elections).
It’s barely 9 a.m. when the bus specially chartered by THE BELINGA FOUNDATION and carrying the GRASSFIELDS dance group arrives at the festival village. As soon as they set foot on the Mengong ground, they were already the object of the public’s attention. Everyone comments and appreciates their outfits and hairstyles, characteristic of the GRASSFIELDS people, who are difficult to see in our county. Motivated, encouraged and eager to show off their talent in the Mvila division and precisely in the Mengong county these youngsters jump straight onto the stage and dance floor for a little demonstration.
They return after breakfast to warm up the crowd until just before 6 p.m., before handing over the podium to the festival newscast team.Indeed, it’s time to introduce you to one aspect of the BIA SO MENGONG festival’s innovation. Once the newscast is over, the beauty queens take to the festival stage to the cheers of the audience. Nine amazons from different villages in the Mengong district launch the beauty fireworks of the BIA SO MENGONG 2024 festival.
