Well, here’s what we saw:
For two weeks, Mengong was alive with energy. Yes, we had plenty of cases to handle. But above all, let’s remember that it was about:
- Two weeks of culture
- Two weeks of art
- Two weeks of training
- Two weeks of football (the Fraternity Tournament)
- Two weeks of entrepreneurship
- Two weeks of concerts with renowned artists: Vanister Officiel , Nyangono du Sud Officiel Amina Poulloh , Mathématik De Petit Pays, Joël La Fleur Officiel...
- Two weeks of heritage journeys: the heritage of the forest, the Grassfields, the Septentrion...
- Two weeks of seminars to strengthen youth with moral values and living-together, reconnecting with their ancestral roots. Here, people spontaneously spoke of a Popular University.
- Two weeks of excursions, hikes, and mountain climbing
- Two weeks putting young people at the center of all concerns (Bibliobus, Les Cop’s de Mengong)
- Two weeks of inter-State cultural exchange (Nations Day)
- Two weeks of business management training (volunteers not only paid, but above all trained through learning by doing)
And just when we thought it was over, at the closing ceremony came the announcement: “Back to the Roots” as the theme of the next edition.
I assure you, the Bia So Mengong Festival is truly something special. Let’s already start preparing for the next edition — it will be Xplosive!
