DAY 10: TUESDAY, JULY 23, 2024: TIME FOR SOCCER, SONGO, GOSPEL AND TOURISM.

The third edition of the BIA SO MENGONG festival effectively started its countdown today with the soccer quarter-finals, the gospel competition final, the start of the women’s soccer tournament, the Songo game and tourism.

As usual, in the morning the festival village is decked out in its finest colors, with food and drink stalls filling up with festival-goers. At 10 a.m. on the dot, soccer kicks off the day’s activities at the COCAM stadium, with four clashes producing the following results: – PEGAZE de Nnemeyong I # USA d’Abiete: 2-5 (penalty shoot-out) – TIKARI d’Ebolebola # NATIONAL de Ngoulemakong: 4-3 (on penalties)- FORTISSIMO Mengong 5 # ETONDO FC 1- Mekamevom KPWATOLO 1 # Nkoleteto REIMS 3

On the women’s side, there were two matches on the program: the clash between neighbors Mengong-Yat lost to FORTISSIMO, 4 goals to 0; and the match between DOUM FC and REIMS de Nkoleteto, which the Doum girls won by a clear 12 goals to 0.

In the meantime, the Songo game is gaining momentum, with people and personalities challenging each other around the tables. A special team from the technical staff, led by Professor STEVE FELIX BELINGA, travels to the village of EKOUK in MBOULA to discover the ALOP cave. It’s a place for tourism that amazes everyone.

The festival-goers barely had time to catch their breath after this sporting day when the four finalists in the Gospel competition took to the stage. They are : – Rock of Love by Nkoleteto, – 512, – La Voix Céleste by Mengong, – La Voix de l’heure from Ebolowa. After two hours of high quality work, La Voix de l’heure, already the winner last year, came out on top, beating La Voix Céleste by a short distance. 512 came third.
